A roofer you can
actually trust.

In 1987, Dale Hargrove started Ridgeline Roofing with a pickup truck, three employees, and a simple conviction: a roof should be installed right, or not at all. Nearly four decades later, that conviction is still the backbone of every project we take on. We are not the cheapest option, and we don't pretend to be. We are the roofer who shows up on time, uses materials that are specified correctly for your climate, and delivers a finished product you won't have to think about for decades.

The Pacific Northwest is hard on roofs. Persistent winter rain, moss and algae pressure, heavy snow loads in the Cascades — these aren't abstract concerns for us. They are the conditions our crews work in every week, and our material specifications reflect that intimacy. We've refined our installation techniques over thousands of rooftops, and our foremen carry an average of 14 years of field experience.

We operate on a strict project calendar: no double-booking, no split crews chasing multiple jobs at once. When your roof is on the schedule, your roof gets the full attention of a dedicated team from first-day tear-off to final inspection. The job isn't done until our project manager walks the ridge with you and you are satisfied.

The right material
for every roof.

We carry three premium roofing systems, each chosen for performance in the Pacific Northwest's demanding climate. All materials are sourced from top-tier manufacturers and installed to full warranty specifications.

I / Asphalt

Architectural Shingles

The gold standard for residential roofing — dimensional, wind-resistant, and available in dozens of profiles. We install GAF Timberline HDZ as our baseline, with Camelot II and Grand Sequoia for clients seeking a more dramatic architectural profile. These shingles carry algae-resistance treatment as standard for our region's moss pressure.

  • 30–50 year manufacturer warranty
  • 130 mph wind-resistance rating
  • StainGuard Plus algae protection

II / Metal

Standing Seam Metal

When longevity is the only metric that matters, standing seam Galvalume or Kynar-coated steel is the answer. Our metal roofing systems are engineered for the full spectrum — from rustic weathered zinc on craftsman homes to sharp architectural steel on contemporary builds. No exposed fasteners, no penetration points for water intrusion.

  • 50–70 year expected lifespan
  • Class A fire rating
  • Available in 40+ Kynar paint colors
Synthetic slate tiles installed on an upscale residential home exterior
III / Slate

Synthetic Slate

All the gravitas of natural slate — none of the weight, brittleness, or price shock. DaVinci Roofscapes and Brava polymer tiles replicate authentic quarried slate down to the surface texture and color variation, at a fraction of the structural demand. The result is a roof of genuine distinction that most people can't tell apart from the real thing.

  • 50-year limited warranty
  • Class 4 impact rating (hail)
  • 1/10th the weight of natural slate

No surprises.
Every step.

We've refined our project workflow over thousands of jobs. From the first inspection to the final walkthrough, you'll always know where your project stands, what comes next, and who to call if a question arises.

  1. 01
    Inspection

    Thorough Roof Inspection

Every project begins with a no-cost inspection by one of our senior estimators. We don't do drive-by assessments. We get on the roof, check the decking, inspect all penetrations, assess the ventilation, and document everything with photos you'll receive. Our inspection report gives you a clear picture of the roof's current condition — regardless of whether you choose to hire us.

  2. 02
    Quote

    Detailed, Itemized Quote

Your estimate breaks out every line: tear-off, decking, underlayment, material, labor, flashing, and any structural work identified during inspection. We don't pad numbers or hide fees. The price you accept is the price on your invoice, with the sole exception of concealed decking damage discovered during tear-off — we'll document and photograph any additional work before proceeding.

  3. 03
    Materials

    Material Selection

Once you're ready to move forward, we'll walk through color samples, profiles, and warranties so you can make a fully informed decision. We stock physical samples and can pull reference projects in your neighborhood to help you visualize the finished result. There's no pressure — we want your confidence, not your hurry.

  4. 04
    Installation

    Expert Installation

Our crews arrive with all materials staged, waste haul arranged, and a daily communication protocol in place. We treat your property with the same care we'd bring to our own homes — tarping landscaping, protecting windows and gutters, and running daily magnet sweeps for nails. A dedicated foreman is on-site every day, not cycling between jobs.

  5. 05
    Walkthrough

    Final Walkthrough & Sign-Off

When the crew finishes, we schedule a formal walkthrough with your project manager. We'll inspect the ridge cap, all flashing points, the gutter line, and any penetrations — together with you or your representative. You'll receive your warranty documentation, manufacturer registration, and a 24-month workmanship guarantee card before we consider the job complete.

From the
homeowners
themselves.

We've built our reputation one rooftop at a time. These are a few of the people who trusted us with theirs.

We had three bids on our roof replacement — a full tear-off plus new decking on a 3,400 sq ft home. Ridgeline wasn't the cheapest. They were about $4,000 more than our lowest bid. What sold us was the inspection report. It was eight pages long with photos. The other two estimators were in and out in fifteen minutes. Dale's team spent two hours on our roof before we even talked price. Two years out, the roof looks exactly as it did on install day. I'll never use anyone else.

As a commercial property owner with twelve buildings in the portfolio, I've worked with probably eight different roofing contractors over the years. Ridgeline is on a completely different level when it comes to project management. My property manager doesn't have to babysit the crew. They show up when they say they will, they communicate daily, and there has never been a single warranty callback in five years of work with them. That's almost unheard of in this industry.

My parents' home is a 1924 Craftsman with a complex roofline — multiple valleys, a sleeping porch, a bay window that required custom flashing work. We specified synthetic slate to match the original character of the house. The crew treated that job like they were restoring a cathedral. The foreman, James, would come down off the roof to walk me through what he was seeing and what he planned. The finished roof is genuinely beautiful. My neighbors stop to comment on it.

Our word,
in writing.

A premium roof is a significant investment. We back every installation with industry-leading guarantees and offer flexible financing options that protect your budget.

50-Year System Warranty

As a GAF Master Elite contractor — a designation held by fewer than 3% of roofing companies nationally — we are authorized to offer the Golden Pledge limited warranty: the strongest roofing warranty in the industry. It covers both materials and labor for up to 50 years, is fully transferable to future owners, and is backed by GAF, not just by us. This is the warranty we recommend for every asphalt shingle installation.

GAF Master Elite Certified

24-Month Workmanship Guarantee

Beyond the manufacturer warranty, Ridgeline backs every installation with a 24-month workmanship guarantee — our personal commitment that if any defect attributable to our installation appears in the first two years, we'll fix it at no charge, no questions. This covers all penetrations, flashing details, ridge cap, and gutter integration. Our callback rate is less than 1%. We put our reputation on every roof we build.

Workmanship Guaranteed

Flexible Financing Available

We've partnered with GreenSky and Mosaic to offer 12-month same-as-cash plans, 84-month low-APR loans, and deferred payment options for qualifying homeowners. Applications take minutes and decisions are typically same-day. A new roof doesn't need to be a financial emergency — ask your estimator about financing options at the time of your quote.

Licensed, Bonded & Insured

Ridgeline Roofing holds active contractor licenses in Oregon (#CCB 198742) and Washington (#RIDGERO826JP). We carry $2 million in general liability coverage and full workers' compensation for all crew members. Our certificates of insurance are available on request before any work begins — you should ask this of every contractor you consider, and we'll always provide it without hesitation.

Frequently asked
questions.

The vast majority of residential re-roofs are completed in one to two days, depending on roof complexity and square footage. A straightforward gable roof on a 2,000 sq ft home typically takes one full day with our standard 5–7 person crew. Homes with multiple valleys, dormers, skylights, or steep pitches may require a second day. We will give you a firm timeline projection in your estimate, and we don't leave a project overnight with underlayment exposed unless weather makes it unavoidable — in which case we'll tarp the roof completely at no additional charge.
You don't need to be on-site during the work day, but we do ask that someone be available by phone in case our foreman has questions or uncovers something unexpected in the decking. At the start of the project, we'll walk the property together and note anything we should protect or be aware of. At the end of the job, we strongly encourage you or your representative to be present for the final walkthrough — it's your opportunity to see the work up close, ask questions, and sign off before we pack up.
We monitor weather forecasts closely and typically won't begin a tear-off if significant rain is expected within 24 hours. If weather develops unexpectedly during the job, we pause installation, apply synthetic underlayment across any exposed decking, and tarp the entire surface securely. We will not leave a roof without a weatherproof barrier in place. Once conditions clear, we return to complete the installation. This is rare — we do this work year-round in the Pacific Northwest and have refined our weather management considerably over 37 years.
This is the most important question in roofing, and unfortunately it gets a biased answer from many contractors who profit more from replacement. We'll give you an honest assessment: if your roof has isolated damage — a handful of lifted shingles, a failed flashing point, a few cracked tiles — repair is almost certainly the right call. If your shingles are granule-bare, multiple areas show streaking or cupping, your decking has soft spots, or the roof is approaching the end of its rated lifespan with widespread deterioration, a full replacement will cost less in the long run. Our inspection report always includes a frank recommendation with documented reasoning.
Yes — we handle insurance-assisted projects regularly, particularly after the hail and wind events common to this region. We can meet the adjuster on-site to document damage, provide itemized scopes that align with Xactimate pricing, and manage the supplement process when the initial settlement doesn't capture all legitimate costs. We don't act as your public adjuster, but we advocate clearly for the full scope of work your policy covers. We have strong relationships with most regional carriers and a track record of clean, undisputed settlements.
